El Dorado (AR) Roof Recover - 2021

Project Scope

This 6,500 square foot roof recover project took place in El Dorado, Arkansas, at Barton Junior High School and highlighted one of three projects completed for the El Dorado School District. The existing steep slope gravel coated built-up roof system had exhausted its serviceable roof life, and a lot of the gravel had begun sliding off the edge of the building. The facility manager experienced degradation of the roof to the point of leaks, and the roof covered a cafeteria so that consistently created issues for the customer.

Our commercial roofing crews vacuumed off the gravel, prepped the existing BUR system already in place, and installed a coverboard ½” DensDeck prime set in low-rise adhesive, and completed the roof recover with a 60-mil Carlisle fully adhered TPO commercial roof system. New drip edge, gutters, and a few vents were also installed.

One of the big takeaways from this project was that our team was able to go with a recover and not tear completely down to the deck, saving the customer money while providing a sound commercial roof system that should last the customer for a very long time, eliminating their leak issues. Furthermore, in a challenging time for the commercial roofing industry, our Supreme Team overcame other supply chain issues and COVID-19 safety measures to provide a quality commercial roof system while keeping all building occupants safe.
