CHURCHES

Church of Latter Day Saints

Grand Prairie (TX) TPO – 2021

Project Scope

The Church of Latter-Day Saints project was located in Grand Prairie, Texas, located just off of highway 161. This roof replacement project spanned about 30,000 square feet and consisted of a pre-existing built-up roof system on two different levels, mostly flat areas.

Highlights

After bringing in Supreme Roofing for a roof inspection, one of our estimators determined that their pre-existing built-up roof system had reached the end of its useful life. The roof inspection report noted that the church had developed a lot of drainage and moisture issues that damaged their commercial roof system and building over time.

Our commercial roofing crews came in to replace it and bring their commercial roof system up to code. The church went above and beyond in selecting a commercial roofing system for their roof replacement, going to an R-30, fully tapered 80-mil Firestone TPO system. Located underneath the membrane, the newly installed tapered insulation will provide them with a positive drainage roof system to solve the water drainage issues.

The biggest takeaway from the project was that we were able to solve their drainage issues that they had struggled with for a long time. We replaced the soffits, fascia and gutters with new prefinished metal which improved the aesthetics of the building. They came away with a very good commercial roof system that should last them for a very long time.
