Omaha (NE) Roof Replacement – 2020

Project Scope

This roof replacement project took place in Omaha, Nebraska, at a large food processing plant during the height of COVID-19 in 2020. When our Supreme Roofing personnel arrived onsite for the initial roof inspection, we determined that the roof had several problem leak areas and had exhausted the serviceable life of the pre-existing roof system. The total roofing area spanned around 100,000 square feet and included the installation of a Siplast 2-ply modified bitumen membrane throughout, with the installation of additional drains, gutters and downspouts – all of which were crafted and fabricated in-house by our sheet metal department at our national headquarters in Dallas, Texas.

It was a complete tear off as all the roof areas were cleared down to the deck, whether concrete or metal. We went back on the roof replacement with new insulation, coverboards, and the new modified bitumen system with a bright white cap sheet.

We started out just servicing one or two original roof locations before it turned into a total of five roof areas. We would finish one roof location and remobilize to the next location, usually on a different level, presenting one of the bigger challenges in moving from each of the respective locations. Additionally, while operating at a food processing plant and adhering to all of the COVID-19 protocols, it was absolutely critical that we kept our sanitary efforts at the forefront of the project while installing great roof systems throughout. Shoe cleaning and handwashing at each facility checkpoint, hair nets, goggles, masks were all a portion of our approach in ensuring a safe and responsible jobsite throughout the duration of the project.

Our Supreme team organized and executed a very successful project, leaving the customer with a new watertight system and feeling very satisfied with the installation of the new roof system.
